I am.
I am a Dennis Rieter, a 22-year-old, just graduated industrial designer from Venlo, the Netherlands. I followed the Industrial Product Design course at the Fontys campus in Venlo. The first year is mixed with Mechanical Engineering to build up technical knowledge about materials, production processes and other technical related topics. As a result, we learn to design products that are useful for production as a goal.
I did my internship at Inalfa Roofsystem, b. where I have designed a test setup that can reproduce the behavior of the panaroma roof during a doorlam event. I have completed my Bachelor's degree at VDL Bus Venlo. My graduation project was to design a payment table for public transport buses. It had to be ergonomically sound and safe for the bus driver and passengers. For the company the product had to be cheaper, ready for serial production and less labor-intensive. The internship as the graduation were both in the automotive sector, but they almost completely different. I learned a lot from that.
For me, product design means finding a creative, innovative and useful solution to the problem. By continuing to ask how a product can be improved. A solution that offers benefits for the company as the client.
Now that I have finished my bachelor, I am looking for a challenging job in which I can develop myself as a designer and person. The company offers the opportunity to broaden or deepen my knowledge on topics related to product design.
Kind regards,
Dennis Rieter.
